Having pain in the tooth is never a delightful experience, as any delay may lead to several complexities. There are several reasons for tooth discomfort, including sensitivity to beverages that require proper dental care in Murray Hill. In most cases, a root canal treatment is recommended when you experience symptoms like persistent pain, sensitivity, and more. If you delay the treatment, it can lead to several consequences. This article highlights the common consequences of delaying a root canal treatment. Let’s dive in!

Consequences of delaying a root canal treatment

    1. Spread of infection

In case you experience a nerve infection, dentists suggest a root canal treatment. Infection is caused due to deep decay of tooth or fracture which results in unbearable pain and discomfort. To stop this infection, dentists recommend a root canal treatment. The infection may pass through different body parts if the treatment is not provided timely.

    2. Unbearable pain

The tooth infection is a primary cause of unbearable pain. As the infection increases, the pain gets worse. If you delay tooth canal treatment, you may experience a lingering sensation, resulting in low chances of recovery. Never delay an RTC, as the pain will get worse and the chances of nerve damage increase.

    3. Acute abscess

If left untreated, a root canal treatment not only results in infection and bone loss it may also result in acute abscess. It is a pus formation on the area of decay or the infected tooth, which causes excruciating pain in your tooth. Some major symptoms of acute abscess are swelling, fever, and unbearable pain. If not treated timely, you may experience swollen jawbones and experience difficulty problems.

    4. Tooth loss

Root canal treatment primarily aims to remove the infected and decayed tooth. Further, it is cleaned and sealed by the dentist to prevent further damage. If the RTC treatment is delayed, the tooth becomes highly infected. Additionally, the chances of tooth loss exist.

    5. Other difficult treatment

If you are experiencing pain in your tooth along with an acute abscess, it is high time to seek dentist help. Any delay in the treatment may complicate the situation. With time, the pain increases, and bacteria travel to other body parts, causing life-threatening problems.

    Wrapping Up

A root canal is a popular tooth restoration treatment where dentists use tools to treat and seal the infected tooth. You may experience the conditions mentioned above if not treated timely.
