The liquid diet is often prescribed for bariatric surgery patients, but it can be difficult to figure out what foods are safe and healthy. This article will help you understand the clear liquid diet so that you know what to eat when following this type of post-bariatric surgery dietary plan.

What is a clear liquid diet?

What can you eat while on a diet?

You may eat watermelon, ice pops/popsicles, popsicles/ice cream, applesauce, clear fruit juices (apple or white grape juice), Jell-O (sugarless), bouillon broth (chicken or beef), sugarless gum, plain coffee and tea, hard candy (to suck on), sugarless soda pop, popsicles.  You must avoid all foods that contain any amount of oil, fat, or added sugar
